APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

Entry Requirements/Application Status

  • Techtorium NZIIT Ltd. will not accept international students under the age of 18.
  • All non-New Zealand residents (with the exception of Australian citizens and residents) need a student visa/permit to study in New Zealand.
  • To apply for a New Zealand student permit or visa you must be formally accepted for a position on a Techtorium NZIIT Ltd. Qualification.
  • You will have paid your full fees and have also arranged your accommodation.
  • Nationals from countries who have a visa waiver agreement with the New Zealand government are able to travel to New Zealand as a visitor and apply for a student visa/permit once in New Zealand. Please visit www.immigration.govt.nz for full details.

To apply for an academic programme, all International students must provide:

  • A completed and signed Student Enrolment form which can be downloaded from our website: http://www.techtorium.co.nz. or contact us by email or telephone, and we will post/email or fax you a copy.
  • Proof of your English ability (one of the following: recent IELTS test results or evidence that your medium of instruction has been English)..
  • A notarised English translation of your academic records, from your highest level of academic study
  • If you are still at school, a copy of your most recent school report
  • Details of any relevant work experience you would like us to consider


CONDITIONS OF ACCEPTANCE

  • To study at Techtorium all International Students must meet the following conditions:
  • To abide by the College Rules
  • To attend all classes unless sick. (A Medical Certificate is required from your regular doctor after 2 consecutive days of sick leave.)
  • To always be punctual to school and classes.
  • To meet tuition fees and renew your Student Visa/Permit if necessary.


REFUND CONDITIONS (POLICY)

If a student withdraws from the course prior to the start of the course or within the first ten days of the course, they will receive a full refund of all course fees paid less a processing and administration fee of $500.00, or 10% of the course cost, which ever is the lesser amount, and also less any insurances premium paid.

Further monies may well be deducted up in the event of the student withdrawing prior to the 10 day period. These deductions may include payments that have been paid to third party agents such as, recruitment agents’ commissions, export education levy, examination fees, student services pickup, insurance etc.

If you withdraw after 10 days of starting the course no refunds are provided.

Refunds may be requested on compassionate grounds after the first 10 days. However this will be at the discretion of the Techtorium Directors.


ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY

IELTS Test Certificate with a band score of minimum 4.5 overall.
You will need to pass the General Category IELTS test with a minimum band of 4.5


FACILITIES, EQUIPMENT AND STAFFING

Techtorium has a modern tertiary education facility in Newmarket (see Location). There are three classrooms including a well-equipped computer room, a theory room and a practical room. Techtorium also sports a kitchen and lunchroom with soft drink and snack vending machines and a microwave. Being in the hub of Newmarket, there are also a great variety of cafes, restaurants and fast food outlets close by. We are very close to public transport - such as buses and trains and there are a number of car parks close by.

MEDICAL AND TRAVEL INSURANCE

International students must have appropriate and current medical and travel the full length of time they are studying in New Zealand. New Zealand Insurance cover will be accepted only or An overseas insurance policy will only be accepted if it is accompanied by an English translation.You will need to get Medical and Travel insurance and attach the proof of the same along with you visa application. Step 2

The Admissions Coordinator of the Institute will review your application and inform you regarding course acceptance. We aim to notifying students within 5 working days after the receipt of the application.

In the event that you are accepted, we will send you an official Letter of Offer by postal mail & email.

 

 

Step 3

Having received the Letter of Offer you will need to furnish some documents to be able to apply for your visa.

Step 4

At this point you will apply for a student visa with the supporting documents.

You would be given a provisional visa. You will further need to complete the following processes and apply again for the full visa.

Step 5

 

You will be given a receipt upon the payment of tuition fees. This receipt will be accompanied by the “Letter of Acceptance”.

Upon submitting this receipt and other relevant documents, you will be granted a Full Visa.

Immigration
Full details of visa and permit requirements, advice on rights to employment in New Zealand while studying, and reporting requirements are available through the New Zealand - Immigration Service, and can be viewed on their website at http://www.immigration.govt.nz

Eligibility for Health Services
Most international students are not entitled to publicly funded health services while in New Zealand. If you receive medical treatment during your visit, you may be liable for the full costs of that treatment. Accident Insurance
The Accident Compensation Corporation provides accident insurance for all New Zealand citizens, residents and temporary visitors to New Zealand, but you may still be liable for all other medical and related costs. Further information can be viewed on the ACC website at http://www.acc.co.nz

N.B. Students must provide evidence of appropriate and current medical and travel insurance. This insurance must cover the full length of time spent in New Zealand.
An overseas Insurance policy will only be accepted if it is accompanied with an English translation.

The college will keep a record of the Insurance Policy number and the type of cover provided.
